In a new interview with Clash Music, Dave Gahan hints at the possibility we might see some new Depeche Mode music by the end of the year. Or did he? The interviewer, Mat Smith, says that Dave said to him that the band hope to have something out by the end of a year, a single perhaps, but doesn't quote Dave directly. I'm loving the little bits and pieces coming out the last few days on the new DM record. The day after we find out the new album will see an April 2013 release, we get word that Flood will be mixing the record! In a new Soulsavers interview for DIY, Dave says, "we’ve got about twenty songs on the go at the moment, and we’ll keep going to a certain point. Rolling Stone has put up their review of last night's Soulsavers studio session with Dave Gahan that had Jonathan Kessler saying that the forthcoming Depeche Mode record is slated for an April 2013 release date. He also said that following this performance, Dave "is now fully immersed in his day job" with Depeche. Further one offs are possible, but we'll have to wait and see. Last night's seven song performance was recorded and, according to Kessler, will be available "quickly" for interested parties or the web. We shall see where it shows up. Nice to see Daniel Miller was in attendance as well.

Breaking News... This just in, Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet are having a battle of the bands tonight at the abandon Members Only wherehouse that is being judged by both King and Nik Kershaw! No, not really, but Soulsavers might be. I really just wanted to share a great photo of Dave and Rich (of Soulsavers) that was posted on Dave's official Facebook yesterday.
