Wrong artwork, radio and release dates

The band's official site today revealed that "Wrong", the first single from Depeche Mode's twelfth studio album "Sounds Of The Universe", will be released on April 6th, 2009 (April 7th in North America). The world premiere of "Wrong" will be on the Echo Awards television show in Germany on February 21st. The rest of the universe will get to hear "Wrong" on the radio, starting February 23rd. The site also unveiled the artwork for the single, which you can see after the jump.

DM to be featured in new NIN doc

There is a new movie coming out called "Metal Machine Music: Nine Inch Nails and the Industrial Uprising" that will feature Depeche Mode as well as many other bands. While the movie is mostly centered on NIN, it says that there is rare music and footage in which DM is included.Worth checking out! extrawack reviews “Sounds…”

extrawack's review is by far the most interesting one so far, with plenty of mouthwatering bits and a generous helping of wee details we might not yet have known. Like "Jezebel" being the only Gore lead song on the album. Also, the band will hit Madison Square Garden in July/August and the full US tour dates should be announced in two weeks time. Filter Magazine reviews “Sounds…”

Some media outlets are beginning to post brief reviews based on what we can only assume are the first listening sessions for press around the world. The most interesting thus far comes from Filter Magazine, who lists two of the Dave-penned songs amongst their three picks for key tracks, and also names the album's obligatory instrumental. First Impressions: -Grinding album opener, "In Chains", is instantly grabbing with its tortured carousel machine music, and assures one that Gahan, Gore and Fletcher are back and have brought a lot to the table this time around.
