As most of you probably know by now, Alan Wilder is readying his latest addition to the Recoil project - the album "Selected". We're very pleased to be able to reveal the artwork and the tracklist (below). "Selected" consists of tracks handpicked, slightly tweaked and lovingly remastered and by the man himself. It's an excellent compilation, which will also be made available as a 2CD edition with a selection of rare tracks and brand new remixes.

Tonight, Alan Wilder announces that he is on track to release a new album titled "Selected", and will embark on the first ever tour with the Recoil project to support the album. "Selected" is Alan's personal best of-Recoil compilation, which will also be released as a double CD package featuring a selection of b-sides and remixes, some of which have never been released before.

Has your recent involvement in the DM album re-issues given you any new appreciation or insight into them or in fact your time in the band overall? Was this involvement something you were asked to do or did you volunteer?
I wouldn't say I gained any great new insight into the records themselves. The listening experience brought back a lot of memories however. Certain individual sounds, when exposed, sparked off a recollection of how they were recorded which in turn...

Alan Wilder has written an op-ed for the music webzine, SideLine. In the piece, titled "Music For The Masses - I Think Not!", Alan tackles subjects ranging from the loudness wars, to the impact of downloads on the music (as opposed to the music business), and how difficult it is to actually get something as seemingly straightforward as a CD single released these days. It's a fascinating read, and should tie you over till we've put the finishing touches on our own Recoil feature, which *will* hit the site on Saturday!!
