Al writes: "We are very excited to bring you news of an exclusive one show-only guest DJ appearance at Recoil's event at Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, CA on 24th October. A certain Mr Martin L. Gore will be appearing to DJ at an aftershow DM/Recoil party. Martin has graciously agreed to appear just for this event to spin a collection of his favourite tracks. Many will be aware that Martin likes to DJ occasionally and reveal his enthusiasm for electronica."

Depeche Mode web-guy Daniel Barassi posted a teaser video on YouTube, suggesting (should we say "confirming"?) that Martin Gore will be appearing at one of the Recoil events scheduled for the US this fall. Specifically, the Santa Ana show on October 24. The YouTube video shows Alan, then Martin with their respective initials; then the coordinates of Santa Ana followed by the date. Yes, people, you read that absolutely right. Martin is working on a new project with former band-mate, Vince Clarke. So far very little is known, apart from one a single title: "Zaat". The former Depeche Mode/Yazoo-man revealed the collaboration via Twitter, saying simply: "Am working on the track 'Zaat'. Collaborating with Martin (Gore) (from Basildon)".

Martin Gore has hand-selected a list of 10 essential tracks for leading electronic music download site, Beatport. The content of the list reflects Martin's affinity for minimal and techno, which has also been on full display before each of Depeche Mode's shows on the last several tours or in Gore's intimate DJ sets. The list includes tracks from Hobo, Wade Bennet and Benny Knox, among others.
