Discovery Channel is digging for gold with the premiere of the Ridley Scott-produced mini-series, "Klondike," premiering on January 20th on Discovery Channel in the US and Canada.
The 3-part mini-series focuses on those who reached out to touch, er, gold in the Yukon Territory wilderness of the 1890s and features Scottish actor Richard Madden ("Game of Thrones"), Abbie Cornish ("RoboCop"), Tim Roth ("Pulp Fiction"), Sam Shepard ("August: Osage County") and Augustus Prew ("Kick-Ass 2").

Adding to a week that will see the band play outside the Jimmy Kimmel Live show in Hollywood, Depeche Mode have announced a concert on Friday evening, April 26th, exclusively for KROQ-FM radio winners. The venue is the smallest one the band has ever played in Los Angeles, with a capacity between 300-400, and among the smallest shows the band will play for its Delta Machine Tour.
KROQ-FM is giving away a pair of tickets every 30 minutes all this week, and is offering an online entry form, as well. (Note that the contest rules state winners must be residents of the state of California.)

Adding to an already-busy week that saw the official release of Depeche Mode's new album, "Delta Machine" and numerous promotional appearances, the band today premiered the Warren Fu-directed video for what will be the album's second single, "Soothe My Soul."
The sultry video features shadowed and silhouetted footage of David, Martin and Fletch, as well as racy closeups of a female model and her serpentine companion. The black & white video and unusual use of a compressed screen ratio accompanies the song's innuendo-laden lyrics and thumping rhythm.

Depeche Mode fans were treated today to a surprise debut of the second single from the band's soon-to-be-released ablum, "Delta Machine," on BBC6 Radio's morning show. The uptempo stomper, "Soothe My Soul," was revealed to have a more electronic edge than the rocky performance at this week's "Live On Letterman" streaming concert series would have indicated.

Following on the heels of their panel announcement, Depeche Mode have confirmed their first ever showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival on Friday, March 15th.
