Ahead of the release of Spirits In The Forest, we have been interviewing a number of the fans who take part in the film. The first interview is with Daniel Cassus from Berlin. David McElroy caught up with Daniel in London on 30th October at the preview screening of the film.
When did you 1st find out your were going to be involved in the making of the film?
I think it was some time in early 2018. The takeover had just finished, so it was around April. The people who ran the takeover kept teasing us with emails saying "it's not over yet, we’ve still got some surprises left for you"...

On Wednesday this week, the internet rumour mill began muttering about the long awaited Global Spirit Tour film with a website called spiritsintheforest.com popping up alongside a couple of reports talking about the new Depeche film. Yesterday, those rumours were confirmed and so we now have a new Depeche Mode film to look forward to. Well, some of us do anyway; as ever there are plenty of fans upset about something they've not yet seen.

Martin L. Gore will be featured in the Other Music Documentary film about iconic NYC indie record store, Other Music. The doc will be premiering at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival and features musicians from bands like Interpol, Mogwai, The Magnetic Fields, The National, and many more.

Moogfest 2019 has begun to announce the line up for the first phase of this year's Moogfest and Depeche Mode's Martin L. Gore will be there! Martin is set to participate in a “creative exchange” conversation during the festival, but we're hoping he might be doing a DJ set or a live performance as well. Perhaps a tall order, but we can hope right? A great line up so far with Depeche Mode support act and remixer, Matthew Dear, on the bill as well as many others.

The Smashing Pumpkins performed their Depeche Mode cover “Never Let Me Down Again” last night in Madison, WI. This was the first time the band have played it since 1995, so we'll see if it stays in the set list. Aside from some new songs and classics, they also covered "Friday, I'm In Love" from The Cure.
