Pollstar jumping the gun or traveling to the future? Possibly both!

I had to re-check my calendar as I was reading an article onPollstar.com today. They either travelled to the future, or know something we don't, because they are reporting that, and I quote, "Earlier this year, Depeche Mode got its own Pass priced at $19. What did fans get for their money? More than 30 songs and videos, many of which had never before been released, plus the band’s new album, Sounds of the Universe". Hmmm... maybe they need a calendar? Maybe it's a hint of what's to come? Only time will tell... ;)

Mode set to repeat the LiveHereNow success?

While no official announcement have been made yet, press in as far away apart places as Latvia and Israel are reporting that the band are planning on recording and releasing most (if not all) of the shows on their forthcoming tour. The band premiered this concept on the last half of their 2005/2006 Touring The Angel tour. Says Latvian promoter FBI, "the concert in Riga will be recorded so that it will be possible to purchase it in a CD format". Mute: Laibach does Wagner; announce the opening of the Laibach Kunst Exhibition

Mode label mates Laibach have always done things differently, and done them well. Now, the Slovenian art collective are taken on Wagner in a performance titled, VOLKSWAGNER. The event is taking place in Ljubljana on the 18th of April 2009, at the Gallus Hall, and it's promising to be the event of a life time! Later this summer, Laibach will be taking over Museum Sztuki in Lodz (Poland) with the band presenting 10 different installations. The exhibit will run from from 16 May – 23 August 2009. ‘The Posters Came From The Walls’ screening in Prague!

We’re extremely pleased to announce that we, in partnership with Mute, will be showing Mute’s documentary about Depeche Mode fans “The Posters Came From The Walls” at the ‘Sounds Of The Universe - Release Party’ at Retro Music Hall in Prague on April 18th! Directed by Jeremy Deller and Nicholas Abrahams, the documentary looks at a cultural phenomenon that stretches from Mexico to Russia, from 80s East Berlin to teenagers in California today. The film has remained largely unseen since it was filmed in 2006, with only a few festival screenings in London, so this is a rare opportunity...
