Band release statement regarding cancelled shows

Unfortunately, Depeche Mode are not able to reschedule 8 of the cancelled shows due to scheduling conflicts. Despite efforts to find a window in which to reschedule these dates, it has proven unfeasible to do so. Read on for the band's statement to the fans affected. To all our fans who held tickets to the recently cancelled shows, We want to express our deep and heartfelt apology for having to cancel these shows and want to also provide a bit of explanation for why we are not able to replay these dates. Shows added in Mexico City, Barcelona, Erfurt, Rotterdam, Prague and Berlin

A plethora of dates are being added to the tour these days, with shows being added on both sides of the Atlantic. Mexico City and Barcelona are getting second dates, and winter dates in Erfurt, Berlin, Prague and Rotterdam have been added. Another show in Mexico added to the tour

Paris and Lievin join Madrid as latest additions to tour (updated)

In addition to the recently added Madrid show on November 16, local promoters in France have now announced two three additional french shows in January 2010: Lievin (Stade Couvert Regional) on January 17 and Paris (POP de Bercy) on January 19 and 20. Full tour listing now up to date.

Depeche Mode cancel six shows due to Dave taking ill

Depeche Mode have been forced to cancel six shows on their Sounds of the Universe tour due to further complications from singer Dave Gahan's severe bout of gastroenteritis. Dave is currently undergoing further tests. Depeche Mode apologise to all their fans for this inconvenience and wish Dave a speedy recovery. Further information will be released in due course. Dave fell ill with a severe bout of gastroenteritis shortly before he was due onstage in Athens which resulted in his immediate hospitalization. At this stage, Dave's primary concern is to return to full health and resume the tour...
