Christian Eigner and Peter Gordeno involved in 'Opien' solo project

Today a musicvideo popped up online, with no name, no description, no tags, just the (familiar?) title "Let Me Down" and Christian Eigner in the video thumbnails, uploaded by a mysterious 'Opien2080'. Luckily the uploader's avatar also had the name "opien" in it, which quickly led me to http://www.opien.com. Catching Up with Matt Fretton

It's was really nice to get a note from Matt Fretton letting us know that he is returning to making music! www.mattfretton.com is his new site and it's a blog documenting the recording of his new album. Some of you will remember Matt from his days of touring with Depeche Mode back in '82 and '83, but Matt also had support slots in the early 1980s that included tours and one-off dates with bands like Eurythmics, Gang of Four, Boomtown Rats, Thompson Twins, Billy Idol, and King Crimson. DM on new Clark collection

A nice collection of Clark's remixes are coming out on a new double album containing his best remixes to date along with new material called, "Clark: Feast/Beast" from the brilliant Warp Records. Split into "Feast" and "Beast" respectively this album comes out on the 16th of September on Quadruple Vinyl, Double CD, & Download and it features Clark's remix of Depeche Mode's "Freestate" that was on The Remixes 2: 81-11 album. Depeche Tops Hot Tours Chart

Billboard.com has posted up their Tops Hot Tours Chart and Depeche Mode leads this week's list with, according to them, more than $60.8 million in ticket sales from the Delta Machine Tour so far. No idea how they got that number, but that is what they are reporting. Other artists included this week are Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, and Pink. While this isn't particularly the biggest piece of news, it's great to see articles like this showing the bands drawing power.
