From Billboard.com: Updating a story first posted yesterday (Oct. 6). Depeche Mode has renewed its long-term deal with Mute/EMI and is planning to release its 12th studio album April 20, 2009. Past Depeche Mode albums were licensed by Mute to Warner Bros. in the United States but will be under EMI's control moving forward.
At a press event yesterday (Oct. 6) in Berlin, the band also unveiled its 2009 Tour of the Universe, which will play 28 stadium dates worldwide beginning May 10 in Tel Aviv, Israel. As-yet-unannounced dates in North and South America will follow; Live Nation is promoting.

The band announced the dates for the first European leg of their upcoming Tour Of The Universe. The band were in Berlin, and in high spirits, to make the announcement. The tour will start on May 10 in Israel, and will bring the band to North America and South America later in the year. Dates and pictures after the jump:

Finally, we are proud to announce that the new Recoil website has gone on-line. By popular demand, Shunt has decided to revert back to a mainly Html site while still retaining some Flash elements. This allows viewers more flexibility. Thanks almost entirely to Oliver Thiede, this new version is virtually complete and will be regularly updated with many new features.
We hope you'll agree that the design is much more comprehensive and allows more interactivity as well as access to archive material from Shunt (version 1.0). Recoil also has a thriving interactive Myspace and Facebook presence....

The German tour dates are slowly being revealed to us, and we've just been notified that from tonight at 20:00 CET, all the people who've registered for the Eventim Ticket-Alarm, will be able to reserve tickets. The dates so far are:
