Our 20th Anniversary

Not too long ago it occurred to us that 2016 is the 20th anniversary of the site. While we’re not ones to spend too much time looking back at our past or celebrate ourselves, it’s a pretty significant milestone to hit and we just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the occasion. While the name of the site and crew has evolved over the years, the core of the site has been going strong for 20 years now.

We’re not going to go into an extensive history lesson here, but the site was originally started by Paul back in 1996 and he named it Halo. In 2003 the site was taken over by a new crew and our name changed to Empty World 3, a name taken from a working title of the song “World Full Of Nothing”. Then in 2007 the site evolved yet again to be known as Home. While the current core crew has been going since the EW3 days, we’ve added a few team members along the way.

We just want to say thank you to everyone who’s visited our site and trusted us with solid news and insights. We’d also like to thank our forum  members, former site staff members, and all of you who have contributed your time and energy in helping us make the site what it is. Last but not least, we want to thank Depeche Mode.

As I type this, I can’t help but think that Depeche Mode is gearing up to hit the road in support of a brand new record while at the same time a contender for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame…. truly amazing and an amazing time to be a fan.

It’s hard to look to the past with so much in front of us.

Thank you all!

Peter, Glen, Pete, Amigo, Sean, and Shinji
