Depeche Mode tops Billboard’s Hot Tours list at more than twice the second entry on the list

Billboard magazine published its list of Hot Tours, and Depeche Mode’s Global Spirit Tour has topped the list with $46.5 million USD in revenue from more than 600,000 tickets sold for their first 17 venues of the tour, through the two-night stand in Hannover, Germany. The tally more than doubles the revenue tally for the next entry on the list, Ed Sheeran, with 12 venues.

Depeche Mode embarked on their world tour in May, following a series of promotional appearances and performances in the spring. The Global Spirit Tour continues to wind through Europe through mid-July, when it then crosses the pond to North America for a string of late summer and autumn dates, including a record-breaking four-night stint at the Hollywood Bowl. The tour leapfrogs back to Ireland, the U.K. and mainland Europe for late fall and winter shows before heading Latin America for a string of dates in March.
