My Facebook Takeover recap

If you missed it, Depeche Mode are letting their fans Takeover their official Facebook page for the next year to share their thoughts and memories of the band and more. There’s been some amazing fan posts already and I was able to be apart of it yesterday. Will some of our other admins be apart of it as well?? We’ll let you know and share their experiences here if they do.  It was a fun, a little nerve wracking for me, but here’s a little recap of being apart of it.

The people I worked with to get my posts up were amazing and very encouraging. They send you over their expectations and some legal stuff they need you to do. Nothing hard or scary, just part of releasing your info on the page etc. If you haven’t applied or are nervous to, don’t be. They are very helpful and make you feel comfortable with the whole program. At least they did for me. They also give you the day you will be taking over and send you your official Takeover Facebook profile picture. First post is easy, they just want a quick bio and how you connected with the band.

 

They have you submit some items you want to share, go through them, and give the final approval on the your posts. One of the things I wanted to share was this interview I did with François Kevorkian, but I learned I needed to have a 3rd party release from him in order to run it. Luckily he was up for it and got it back to me quickly so that I could share the interview. Keep that in mind if you’re post ideas include pictures of people or items that might need to be cleared. They will help you out with that and get you all set up with it.

 

I’m sure they say this to everyone who is apart of it, but they really seemed to like what I was sending over and requested that I make a video talking about being an administrator on a DM fan page. While it was very nice of them to ask, it was also terrifying to me! Not to be overly dramatic, but when they ask for a video that will be shared on a FB with over 7 million followers… well, I got a little freaked out. They were kind enough to let me promote the site on such an amazing platform, I just had to do it.

 

My last post was a memory of seeing the band live. A unique, but fun concert for sure.
