it's not bad i like the verses - full of menace, but the chorus is a bit weak melodically and lyrically - a bit more work on it and it could have been classic ...one hope i have is the studio mix on the album has strong guitar and drums - it could have a great "I Feel You" sound to it.... (from what i read i think i may be disappointed with the drums)
What are you talking about guys?! This is just one of their best album ever(i have it)!! And this song simply is awesome, dark, powerful(the album version).Cm'on!
I really like Mode's studio sessions! Nice performance, guys!
They could even play Corrupt live, HA? I'd like to hear Fragile Tension, Peace, Jezebel, maybe Corrupt...and the inevitable Wroong. For encore People are People and Shame. All DM universal classics.
I really like this song - I can't wait to hear the album version. People are going to hate me for saving this but it reminds me a solo McCartney song but I can't think of the title. It should be a good track to close out the album. Judging from the "Wrong" studio clip we should not be judging these songs as the final version.
Also I have really high hopes for thi album what with hearing this song and hearing the remix of "Miles Away/The Truth Is" from my iPass today. I was a little worried after hearing "The Sun And The Moon And THe Stars" Remix but even that one has grown on me.
Just a few more weeks left and it's driving me crazy with anticipation!
To "lee m gore:" Dude why are you so down on Fletch? Your comments are begining to remind me of that guy that kept ranting and ranting about how loud PTA was. While everyone is entitled to their opinion at least try to make one that has some basis in facts.
In the session videos released so far, "Come Back," "Wrong" and "Corrupt," I see Fletch playing the keyboards and I would hazard a good guess that he's playing the bass notes. Fletch started as a bass player in the early days and that's what he continues to do. Look at most bands' bass players - there are a few exceptions - but they don't seem like their doing a lot. Bass players often are miked for vocal purposes and they often do not write their own songs. But they do provide an important part to the whole.
This whole idea that all Fletch does is clap is patently absurd. If that were so why would he be in the band? You do realize that being a part of the band that Fletch receives a percentage of the band's profits. Unlike a session or studio player, like say Andrew Phillipott, they usually get a flat fee. Do you think with the kind of money that DM makes that Dave and Martin are giving Fletch the big bucks just to clap? I'm not saying that Fletch is a musical genius but give the man some credit.
Fletch also handles alot of their press coverage, tour details, and accounting issues. They all have been good friends since before 1980 and practically grew up together. Fletch has pulled the band back together numerous times after Dave's drug issues and other problems. He DJ's and plays keyboards to an extent so he has more talent than me. Give the man a break.
Yeah, but Jon, it seems some are on a hate campaign. either that or they just like to shit stare, it's like being at work with all the DM haters. And also why do they have to repeat themselves on both video comments?. Sad
Having seen this a few times(he he), its a dirty track. I personally love it. Fletch IS playing, if you listen carefully you can hear what he is doing. He does contribute to the band, musically and quite vocally on the direction of things. He stated once that if he doesnt "get it", then neither will the people listening to what they are making. He is also quite a goading factor where Martin is concerned, always being able to push him that little bit further. With regards to the album, why dont we all just reserve our thoughts for the album until it actuall hits our CD players? Then we will be fully armed with the facts and make a true judgment on their latest.
ALL HAIL DM!
Having heard the-so caled-albun version of SOTU I was rather dissapoined in the first place. But as usually the sounds growing in me day by day at he point of admitting Jezebel is one of greatest MLGore solos and-apart from brilliant Wrong-very good are Miles away, the sexy In Chains, Peace, Corrupt.SOTU lacks Exciter's uneven feeling but is not as good as Angel to my point of view, worthy afterall
hope they play everything counts on this tour, I love that song live.especially the corus..the clapping hands grab all they can....sorry i mean grabing...
Wrong released on monday, has anyone in the UK heard it on the radio yet? i havn't. I think it will geyt to number 10 ijn the charts due to deevotees, then bomb out..Perfect i think would of been a better choice of single?
