Single of the week: Morgan Geist “Detroit”
Some of you may be familiar with Morgan Geist as one half of Metro Area, but he is as well known for his solo work and his remixes. He has a new album out called Double Night Time and the lead single from the record is an amazing song called Detroit featuring Jeremy Greenspan from Junior Boys on vocals and you should really check it out.
Smooth vocals and even smoother production, I think this will appeal to a lot of Depeche Mode fans who enjoy other electronic music bands. While there are some tracks on the album that lend themselves to that DM sound, check out “Most Of All” and “The Shore”, it also seamlessly blends music genres that gives it a new fresh sound that has been needed in electronic music at the moment. The sigle also features 2 remixes from Carl Craig, so be sure to check those out as well.

Fantastic track! As the album is, really. I love this old school, detroit sound. I did check this album because you talked about it a bit. Thanks Glen!

Having spent all day trying to get just two tickets to see Depeche Mode at the O2, I am astounded at the inflated prices advertised in order to see this iconic band. I do feel that with the reputation the band have, that they, or their management should be working towards stamping out such obscene practices. Until such artists focus their support on stamping out the practice of ebay selling, many geninue fans are going to be left in the lurch
