Depeche Mode are back in the studio!
It’s finally happening! Work has begun! The new Depeche Mode album is now under way! Yes, you’re reading this, and it’s real! Yay!
Last night sources close to the band informed us that studio work has begun. The band and their production team met up in California late last week and began the first set of studio sessions on Monday, May 5th.
Sessions are tentatively scheduled to wrap up in late Autumn, leaving time for mixing and mastering in time for a March ’09 release.
Touring is still being penned – expect to hear more on this nearer the completion of the album.

Great News from Depeche Mode! My favorite band since 1988! I hope you will include Calgary/CANADA for 2009-2010 tour! And yes, take as much time as you need! More new-romantic melodies, melanchilic, less noise to draw some attention)))) Good luck!

YAY! greatest band of all time, exciter was the only slight letdown in a sea of greatness, playing the angel a glorious return to form, except for the not-very-depeche mode video for a pain that im used to, corbijn is a must for videos and concert films. cant waith for new album!

to Rush: "EVERYTHING THAT THE ”MODE” WERE UNTILL 1995" hahaha song Barrel of A Gun (released after Wilder´s leaving) is most typical depeche´s song! and e.g. Condemnation (1993) is probably the worst depeche´s song ever, so I looking forward to the next album and next tour! Depeche rocks!

It is really nice to read different opinions, but hey... it will by strickly up to DM whether they should retire or continue their fantastic work! In 1995 they lost their key element... and they managet to survive in the sea of deteriorating show-business full of crap.. as we all know how/why it's been driven. Also not many of those who once had to bear all of the fame and dropped down with a needle in his arm managed to survive, rediscovered their brand new sober beginning for a sake of... LIFE! We proud of them of what they've done and we proud of them of their desire to continue! It is also really delightful to see how many nations/countries were united and found a common language to speak! Long Live Depeche Mode! There are not many bands in this obscure world who has the same following as DM has! And indeed, let A Madness Begin with anticipation their unknown and misterious at this point record!
