New Booka Shade CD/DVD
Booka Shade, remixers of Depeche Mode and Dave Gahan, are releasing a special edition of their album Movements that will be available as a CD/DVD the will feature a full live performance!
As their mammoth world tour – which took in 150 shows in twenty months – comes to an end, Booka Shade release this special edition of Movements: a CD/DVD package featuring a full live performance filmed in front of 12,000 fans, and bursting at the seams with special features and exclusive audio/visual content.
Co-founders and studio brains of Get Physical Music, Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger aka Booka Shade became international stars of house and techno thanks to their 2005 club smashes ‘Mandarine Girl’ and ‘Body Language’. The following year saw the release of the critically acclaimed Movements LP: a sensuous, melodic and impeccably produced journey through dance music that included album versions of ‘Body Language’ and ‘Mandarine Girl’ alongside ten rip-roaring new tracks.
Booka Shade then embarked on the Movements World Tour, a tireless trail which saw them perform their new work live and direct to thousands of ravers and revellers at clubs, concert halls and festivals from Brisbane to Belgrade, Manchester to Miami, over the course of two years. Touring this hard was no piece of cake – from freak stage fires to the more mundane reality of sleepless nights away from home, the trials were many – but needless to say, Walter and Arno found themselves continually revived and energized by the enthusiasm of the party-hungry crowds who turned up to see them play.
The Tour Edition of Movements includes the original album in its entirety, and a new live DVD, We Came To Dance – the centrepiece of which is a full live show filmed at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival.
The show features live versions of the hits ‘Body Language’, ‘Mandarine Girl’, ‘In White Rooms’, ‘Night Falls’, ‘Darko’ and many more, including their cover of Laurie Anderson’s ‘Oh Superman’, and two previously unreleased tracks, ‘We Came To Dance’ and ‘Monkey On My Deck’, exclusive to this DVD.
On “We Came To Dance”, you’ll also find a revealing 20-minute tour documentary, based around interviews with Booka Shade and the people who surround them – friends, fans, and those professionals who helped make the Movements World Tour happen.
There’s also a wealth of bonus audio material: all the 12 B-sides and exclusive digital tracks from Movements’ singles are included, among them remixes by Hot Chip, Shinedoe and Elektrochemie.
A discography and visual clip for a Booka Shade ‘megamix’ round off an unmissable double-disc package which offers a uniquely comprehensive look at one of modern dance music’s most popular and pioneering bands.
